Workshop & Pantry Storage Ideas

January 28

Workshop and pantry storage isn’t something I would normally share.  But if you’re someone who has lots of craft supplies, home & holiday decor, party supplies, entertaining staples or anything needing a special spot, this might be for you!  Not many have entered into my basement storage and crafting areas, but after sharing a peek on social media, I had requests to see more.  My storage areas aren’t fancy.  They reside in the basement of our over 100 year old home.  So it’s safe to say they’re not remodeled, beautiful areas.  But what they do have is a whimsical, recycled, and creative way of holding all my goodies!  Because of my previous business and my years of collecting, I have saved a lot.  And to be sure I can reuse my things as often as possible, they need to be visible.  Not just my craft and decor supplies, but serving pieces and even food! Otherwise I buy to later realize I had something already in my arsenal!  So today I’ll share how I used simple supplies and mostly what I already had to organize my crafting-storage-workspace-pantry!

let’s organize!

A January Centerpiece with Natural Elements

January 14

A January centerpiece is lovely to create especially after all the holiday magic is packed away until next December.  The New Year is the perfect time for a refresh in the home, with simplicity and calm…and a centerpiece that represents that feeling can take the stage on the table for everyone to enjoy!  Today I’d like to share a simple DIY that incorporates natural elements that nod to winter and spring.  This make the perfect January display until you’re ready for Valentines Day or all the pretty spring blooms to take over.  Dark, snowy days can be brightened with live houseplants that simply remind us that a new season is on the way!  But until it arrives, we can still enjoy the coziness of winter in a fresh way.

I took a blogging break this fall through the holidays and it was the perfect time to rediscover the direction of projects I’ll be sharing this year.  You’ll still see easy entertaining and decorating inspo but focused on reusing, recycling, and even foraging for simple beauties found in nature.  Treasure hunting is also a personal passion and I’ll incorporate those finds more in all my celebrations and home projects.  Recent trips to France have reinvigorated my enthusiasm for utilizing all my well loved, collected items that might become family heirlooms.  Not because they’re worth so much monetarily but because they’ve helped create treasured memories…in finding them AND using them!  Vintage pieces somehow make time feel like it slows even just for an evening. So these are the things I will hold dear in 2026 and look forward to sharing with you!  Now, let’s get back to the simple centerpiece made easy with elements of nature tucked in…

A Pumpkin Spice Treat Basket!

September 17

A pumpkin spice treat basket is a fun twist on a seasonal charcuterie! Try piling your autumnal goodies in a pretty handled basket instead of a board.  Not only does it look lovely, but you can move it from table to coffee table, or to a patio with ease!  I was inspired by-you guessed it-pumpkin spice season to create a simple but delicious appetizer.  It was on the sweeter side so this idea could also work as a casual dessert too!  Crackers, cookie straws, pretzels, chocolates and a delicious pumpkin spice dip made a fall treat that everyone enjoyed!  And the dip was sugar free too so it was sugar & spice that was extra nice! I’ll share the easy recipe at the end of the post.  So let’s get ready to dish out the fall flavors!

Christmas in July!

July 16

Christmas in July is such a festive party theme!  If you’re a ho ho ho holiday lover it also gives you a chance to decorate twice but this time with a summertime twist!  All the joy wrapped up in fresh, seasonal colors, summer staples but mixed with traditional Christmas touches.  You can blend it however you want!  Go all out with red & green, or change it up with tropical colors…  there’s no right or wrong way to do it!  Pink was our signature color for the evening which was inspired by iconic yard flamingos.  A really whimsical way to marry the two seasons together!  The great thing about this theme is that Christmas party food staples like shrimp cocktail, spiral ham, chex mix, punch and eggnog made for easy appetizers & beverages.  And plenty of upbeat holiday tunes were ready to go in already created playlists!  Planning ahead allowed us to grab some decor during after-Christmas sales. But online shopping can get you pretty much what you need any time of year!  So let me share with you our summer celebration in hopes to inspire some…

Valentine’s Day DIY Garland!

January 20

Valentine’s Day will be here soon!  Whether you love to go all out with the pink and red, cute cupids and hearts galore…or you’re on the simpler side, this DIY could be for you!  My Valentine decor has become more minimal over the years but I still love to recognize this sweet & heartfelt holiday. So today I’d love to share this easy project that was inspired by a box of “bowl filler”.  You might ask “why not just dump it in a bowl?” and that’s a perfectly fine question.  Truth is, you absolutely could do that for a simple & still darling decoration.  But I want to share how you can transform the filler into a fun garland…and it only requires a couple supplies you might have on hand!  Let’s welcome Happy Hearts Day with some easy creativity…
