A bewitching dinner party might be fun for your festivities this year! If you like to host a haunted meal for your favorite goblins, I’ve got some spooktacularly simple ideas to share. Enchanting details can be as easy as casting a spell…or just getting a little creative with what you’ve got! If you haven’t guessed, my theme this year is witch. Fun thing about this theme is it’s super easy to find inexpensive decor AND goodies right from your cupboards or backyard! So dim the lights and set the table…the bewitching hour is near!
eat, drink and be scary!
halloween tables are best perfectly imperfect! keep them moody and you’ll have a holiday win!
candles are always my favorite for keeping the mood magical. grab some simple votive holders and scatter them about…
my place mats are sections of gauzy cheesecloth! a SUPER inexpensive way to create table linens with a ghoulish vibe!
i tied strips of the leftover gauze to my candle sticks. stretch the dollar AND make everyday candles look fine for the occasion!
tuck in any little decorations that you have. i’ve heard from the Sanderson sisters that spiders make a delicious snack too!
little pumpkins add a pop of warm, fall color to a mostly black & white table…
i did say the theme was “witch” so some mini hats were perfect for scattering on the table and tucking into gnarly branches grabbed from the yard!
an extra is also placed aside the dessert plates on a table with a sweet holiday vignette…
and the special guests of the night showed up too! yard decorations made one spectacular display on my buffet…
decor tip:
no matter your theme, if you have decorations intended for outdoors, see if they might double duty inside for a night (or all season) i was able to use these ladies by inserting the yard stakes into a long piece of thick styro foram on the buffet. moss, dried & artificial flowers filled the gaps and softened the look. for a party, it can make a big impact for not a lot of effort!
the dried and artificial flowers made the base lush and gave a not-so-spooky vibe!
double double toil and trouble…
let dinner party excitement bubble!!
bewitching dinner party fun!
pin for later~
