I had so much fun with all the paper hearts in custom colors for my sun room the other day…I actually went a little crazy customizing the rest of my home! I LOVE decorating with paper so much because it’s really inexpensive and you can make a simple display look like a million with very little effort! And since the papers for my raspberry and black sun room decor were from a scrapbook supply pack, I had plenty more patterns to choose from to create some Valentine joy for my living and dining rooms too! The other day I bought an adorable garland of glitter arrows and hearts at the Target dollar spot…it’s so sweet but I was really hoping to use some spring inspired colors for the holiday this year. So the purchased hearts became a template for all the pretty paper ones I cut from the pad! Take a peek at how a little paper can add lots of love…
paper and strings make wonderful things…
after all the Christmas came down i was feeling like i wanted to add some softer, springlike colors to my living room…just to cheer things up a bit! so i chose some shades of minty green and floral patterns which just happened to be plentiful in this booklet of scrapbooking paper. i simply traced around the template and cut out an array of hearts in varying patterns…
like in my sun room, i merely clipped them to a strand of twine across my fireplace…
and because i loved my white, twiggy wreath from Christmas SO much i couldn’t bear to take it down just yet…so i changed it up for Valentines by adding some extra paper hearts and the leftover arrows from the purchased garland!
it was easy to just tuck them within the branches…no tape, twine, or clips! adding “love” to the center was another easy way to transform what was a Christmas wreath into one fit for Cupid!
and since i made so many hearts i had a few leftover to hang across a chalkboard in my dinning room…
and on my bar cart…which i’ll be sharing more of later this month!
so you can see how far you can stretch these Valentine hearts…and for pennies! remember you can always change it up…
with some pretty paper!
