A New Year can’t come fast enough for most of us! And while our celebrating might still be different, I have some fun inspiration for combining a Christmas favorite while ringing in 2021! This holiday sure crept up on me, and we never got around to finishing our gingerbread house. So why not decorate one on New Year’s Eve!? Holiday festivities might include only family for a little while longer, so New Year’s Eve is the perfect night to complete this tradition! I’m so excited to team up with The Kits & Pieces Co. to bring you this family fun…and share how easy it is to make it look spectacular too! So let’s walk 2020 to the door…but still cherish the joys that Christmastime brings! Ring in a New Year…
with a gingerbread party!
giggle living may have received payment and/or product. however i only endorse products i love and all opinions are my own.
there’s no place like home for celebrating…especially this year! and since we didn’t get all our Christmas activities finished, i decided to combine them with our New Year’s fun!
and even though our “party” might be small, New Year’s Eve is the perfect opportunity to make it extra festive!
sips & sweets!
you can’t have a new year celebration without bubbly. how fun are these family-friendly versions…pop! fizz! clink!
i picked up several bottles for the season! so festive and a sparkling drink you can serve to all!
paper cups are easy for clean up…and super cute in their shiny pinstripes!
bubbly and sweets go together (in my opinion) so some little cakes are on the buffet for sugary, party sustenance!
gingerbread fun!
it’s easy to set the table for gingerbread house decorating…even if there’s only one gingerbread!
the guest of honor can be propped up on a cake stand, or in this case, a gift box! set it in the middle of the table for all to reach!
then scatter all the goodies for decorating (or munching) down the middle…
fill any little containers or bowls with whatever your family might like! mini cookies & peppermints…
plenty of sugar to mimic frosty snow…
sprinkles…
biscuits for “shingles” or “pathways”. think outside the box…or better yet, get imaginative with what you’ve got!
there’s no right or wrong here…just add a variety!
decorative details!
a few holiday decorations added to the table make it feel full and festive! another box with a faux gingerbread house is a fun addition!
extra tassels from the garland on the buffet combined with some wrapping ribbons make festive chair decorations!
party tip:
bundle your ribbons and/or tassels with simple twine or string. then depending on the material of your chair, use tape, painters tape or a corsage pin to attach the twine to the back! it will be hidden behind the decoration and stay secure!
details on deserts are equally as wonderful. i topped the purchased chocolate mousse treats with a snowflake mallow and some cranberries!
all together, the goodies AND details make a “no-place-like-home” new year party the place to be!!
gingerbread, a new year, family, home…priceless!
make some new traditions this year!
pin for later~
