A simple fiesta for Cinco de Mayo can be easy to pull off…even if it’s last-minute! An effortless menu and festive details will make your May 5 celebration stress-free and so much fun! Whether you’re having a party for guests or just entertaining your family, a fiesta can be such a fun tradition for welcoming spring! Today I’d like to share some inspiration for decorations, and one of our favorite semi-homemade meals that we often enjoy throughout the year. And when it comes to decor, you can blend together things you already own or add a couple new party supplies. Either way, it isn’t hard to set a table that will capture the festivity of the holiday! I’d love to share some of the elements I’ll be using this year…and where to grab some goodies to keep on hand for fiesta fun any time of the year!
simple elements…a simple fiesta!
giggle living may have received payment and/or product. however i only endorse products i love and all opinions are my own.
patio dining is my absolute favorite…but a fiesta can take place anywhere! we dodged a few showers to set up our “may 5 trial run” but it was worth it! my family FULLY enjoys the edible perks of styled shoots!!
let’s start with the food…
my family loves pork carnitas! it’s the simplest to fill a platter with pre-cooked meat and favorite additions…
we like to include spanish rice, feta, fresh lime…
and loads of fresh cilantro!
how cute is this tortillero basket?
for keeping the tortillas warm! it’s a new addition to my serving collection that i’ll be using often!!
the soft tacos don’t require utensils, but i scattered a few disposable forks around just in case!
for this weeknight meal, i served water. (on friday the 5th i’ll be adding margaritas to the menu!) to spruce it up i merely tucked in some faux blooms to my tray (which is actually a charger)
we ended the meal with a sweet bite…right from my local bakery!
fiesta details!
a casual table is always relaxing to be around AND to set! the tray of water serves as a useful centerpiece…
along with potted succulents scattered about!
decor tip:
the succulents came right from my kitchen window. be sure to see if you have household plants or faux arrangements that you can use before you buy!
i tucked a few faux flowers into the pots for a pop of color…
it’s easy to push the stem right into the dirt. a great way to create a floral element with zero effort!
a pinata is placed on a side table casually draped with a banner. easy peasy and super festive!
the table is full of color but grounded with a white table runner matching a traditional papel picaco banner…
if you keep the table full of food and color…and you can’t go wrong!
get ready for cindo de mayo fun…
with a simple fiesta!
