A simple springtime table is what I’ll be setting this Mother’s Day weekend. Even though we can’t celebrate with our extended families this year, it’s still a wonderful time to enjoy a dinner at home and rejoice in the new season! It might seem extra daunting to set a pretty table with retailers still closed and stay-at-home orders still in place. But not to worry! We all have dishes in our cupboards already and with some goodies from around the house and/or yard…we can dress them up perfectly for any holiday! Today I’m going to share a pretty way to style the tabletop just in time for Mother’s Day using simple items that I already own. I hope it inspires you to take a peek at what you might have so you can set a lovely table and enjoy a meal with your family! Let’s get to it…
a simple springtime table…filled with simple pleasures!
you can keep things easy and still achieve something beautiful! don’t get all formal…unless you want to!
these casual melamine plates are pretty enough to compete with fine china…but much easier on the cleanup!
simple springtime details~
i created a super easy centerpiece for the table by clustering bottles filled with sprigs from the yard on a serving board…
this is a great way to create a bigger bang for your floral “buck” if you don’t have much blooming yet…
you can use any bottles or containers you have! some of mine are spice jars, but you could also use milk bottles, yogurt cups and of course, traditional vases if you have them!
i also added some little mushroom figurines for a whimsical, springtime touch!
and since my place settings are simple, i tucked mini bouquets near each plate for some extra color!
more options for the individual vases could include, s&p shakers with removable lids, juice glasses, silver baby cups, or empty perfume bottles…just get creative!
the blooms are the prettiest part anyway!!
and if you serve dessert…set it right on the table as part of the decor!
it’s all those tiny & easy little things that come together to make something so cheerful!
i hope you found some holiday inspiration…and best wishes for a beautiful mother’s day!
set it simple…celebrate big!
