A summer salad board is a wonderful way to present a light, casual meal. I’m a big fan of charcuterie boards and this twist is one of my favorites! It’s a super easy way to present a healthy meal option in beautiful fashion. If you have a large board or platter you’re equipped with what you need…along with your nibbling options! You can go right from your kitchen to patio table and allow your family or guests to dine in serve-yourself style. Just like a traditional charcuterie, pile on all your favorites for a customized meal! Let’s enjoy summer with no-stress outdoor dining!
serve up a summer salad…on a board!
light, fresh, healthy…all the makings for the perfect seasonal meal!
i’m a huge fan of laid back entertaining. family or guests never seem to mind helping themselves to supplies for casual or impromptu gatherings!
a charcuterie board couldn’t be easier to compliment this style of eating! pile the salad in the middle, surrounded with goodies that will blend well…
what i used:
for the salad: baby greens, sliced pork loin, feta, blue berries, pecans, & classic italian dressing. for the extras: smoked provolone, hard salami, fig crackers, vine tomatoes, strawberries, black berries, & mango
classic charcuterie selections, fresh fruit & veggies will help to hold the greens in place…(and taste great too!)
plus they act as an appetizer so you get two for the price of one with this dinner idea!
a container of extra salad dressing adds another level of customization for this relaxed but oh, so pretty presentation!
i added the pork loin for a heartier option. you can choose ANYTHING your heart desires!
another fun touch…edible blooms! a single nasturtium is a crowning touch along with marigold petals…
entertaining tip:
keep a pot of edible flowers on your patio to elevate any meal, appetizers or dessert. you don’t need a big selection to have fun embellishing your food. just keep it free from sprays or fertilizers that aren’t designed for consumables. some ideas for an edible planter are: violets, marigolds, pansies, nasturtium, lavender, hibiscus, roses, carnations. be sure to research but there are many more options out there!
if you’re looking for something easy AND pretty to serve this summer…
give a summer salad board a try!
bon appetit!
