A tropical table is one of my favorite ways to bring some vacation vibes to dinner! After the red, white, and blue comes down, I’m ready for palms and sandy beaches…even if I can’t be near them. Vacation plans may be on hold, but you can bring the same atmosphere to the tabletop with easy and affordable details! Dining outside is half the fun, and by adding some tropical feels you can transport yourself to a lazy, beach-side table! Here’s the other great thing…you most likely have some of what you need right in your own backyard! Stay safe in your own yard or patio, with your family or a small group of friends, and enjoy summer…tropical style!
tropical table details!
giggle living may have received payment and/or product. however i only endorse products i love and all opinions are my own
when i think of tropical decor, i envision shades of green & blue and soft, sandy hues….
even though my table cloth had the color palatte i was looking for, it wasn’t exactly a tropical pattern! but mixing greens from the garden with bamboo-style plates was just what it needed!
tropical touches!
the biodegradable plates were perfect! they’re not only environmentally safe but they’re sturdy AND beautiful! i adore all the different patterns in each plate…
a single stem of fern from my garden will add that extra touch of tropical to each place setting. you don’t have to get fancy with greenery, just lying it on the table is perfectly acceptable!
easy details!
candle holders are pretty for an easy centerpiece, and remember they can make lovely vases too! by clustering them all together, you’ll create a bigger display even if you don’t have lots of greens or flowers!
another sweet detail is to add simple place cards to each seat…
the names simply printed from the computer, cut, and tucked into the wicker on the glasses. if you don’t have a place to tuck the name card, just tie it on with twine or add it to the silverware instead!
the tropical vibe continues on the buffet where a wine cooler & glasses sit for after dinner sipping…
i set the wine glasses on a wood tray and tucked more leaves around it. such a simple way to highlight ordinary stemware…
recycled goods!
an artificial holiday wreath adds color and texture to the top of the cooler! remember to take inventory of ALL your decor…even if it’s for a different season! often times you’ll find something that works!
and lastly, an old whiskey bottle that i love for a vase holds some extra grasses and greens! those little details don’t have to be crazy expensive to tie your whole theme together!
so let simple tropical details delight your summer…
make dinner feel like vacation!

Hello! I believe I got all those products at Hobby Lobby. Unfortunately that was several years ago but they often have similar products each season! Hope you can find them!
