An herb inspired Thanksgiving table is a beautiful, aromatic, and easy way to decorate for the feast! And if you love bringing the outdoor in, this simple table idea might be right for you. Whether you replant herbs from your garden or purchase a few from your local market, you can continue to use the garden greenery in your culinary delights for months to come! I wanted to keep our holiday celebration on the simple side this year, but that doesn’t mean my table won’t look pretty. You might have guessed I’m using herbs to enhance my table decor as well as my feast flavors! Along side every day dishes and paper products, the herbs provide botanical beauty in a simple setup! Let’s get ready for the feast…
it’s thyme for thanksgiving!
summer garden goodies make an encore appearance on this rustic table…
if you live in an area where sensitive herbs won’t winter over, bring them in AND let them help you decorate too!
i had several varieties of thyme so they were repotted and simply scattered about the table…
an easy way to make a minimal table look lush!
pretty, disposable plates are convenient and give a nod to the botanical feel…
and since herbs were the inspiration…tiny bundles tucked into a bread basket were a lovely way to incorporate more!
the sweetest detail plucked right from the garden!
decor tip:
if you don’t have an herb garden you can find many varieties of potted herbs in local farm markets, greenhouse nurseries and even grocery stores. if you choose to add flowers to your food, just be sure they’re from edible varieties. also remember you can put fresh cut herbs in vases too!
keeping it natural…
a simple centerpiece filled with natural elements blends beautifully with the herb inspired theme…
what’s thanksgiving without a cornucopia?
even a tiny one can look grand when you add it to a tray to help display the bounty spilling out!
more little details…
a cute napkin ring never hurts!
clustering goblets and a decanter on a tray can create a secondary centerpiece! beautiful AND useful!
and don’t forget the room itself…
a sideboard, hutch or buffet is a great place to add dried herbs, berries or gourds…
it doesn’t have to be fancy to look sweet.
decor tip:
i love mixing the elements when i decorate. just a few fresh items can blend beautifully with faux to give it an authentic look without blowing the budget on perishable goods.
natural, simple, rustic, cozy…
all the elements for
an herb inspired thanksgiving table!
