Apples and cheese are a tasty combination in my opinion! The crisp bite of the fruit paired with the nutty creaminess of many cheeses makes for a flavorful appetizer. And since we might be entertaining small for a while longer, we can still enjoy the little things that bring simple joys! So today I’d like to share an easy AND tasty appetizer treat for a casual evening at home. This little board might be small but it will tickle your taste buds and contains some healthier options too! I’d also like to introduce to you my friends at A Dutch Masterpiece and to the yummy Opal apple. If you don’t know either…you’re in for a delicious treat! Let’s get ready for the weekend…with an apple and cheese board made for two!
apples and cheese for a simple night in!
giggle living may have received payment and/or product. however i only endorse products i love and all opinions are my own.
celebrating the simple moments doesn’t have to be extravagant! pile together an array of your favorites and gather around the coffee table!
i love sitting right on the floor…it’s comfy and casual. but ANY table or tray will be a perfect place to enjoy!
an apple a day…
if you’ve not heard of the Opal apple, i’m super happy to introduce you! it’s wonderfully crisp, sweet, and has a vibrant color…
but the best part? it doesn’t brown! yup, you heard me…it doesn’t brown after slicing it!
this allows you to use Opals on charcuterie boards, fondue platters, salads, you name it…and they stay beautiful with no fuss!
paired with some delicious cheese…and you have a sweet & savory treat anyone would love!
build your board…
if you choose cheese that’s easy to cut, just remove the rind and place it right on the platter! then surround it with the apples, crisp crackers and more of your favorites…
berries are always a lovely & flavorful accompaniment! i’m particularly fond of blackberries with their rich, dark color.
i often include a spread. for a platter like this one, i’d choose something sweet like honey or preserves. one of my faves is fig…
nuts and chocolate add some salty sweetness! and both blend beautifully with the apples and cheese!
don’t forget to include any helpful utensils like spreaders or a cheese knife…
and, of course, something to sip on! hard cider seemed fitting!
keep it simple, keep it casual…
and indulge on deliciousness!
apples and cheese for the win!
