Cinnamon Cream Cheese Icing!

Cinnamon cream cheese icing is my favorite way to top most treats!  It’s a super easy to make and can turn a box mix into a treat that tastes like made-from-scratch!  I use it all the time but it’s especially nice in the fall and winter with it’s hint of cinnamon!  This icing is wonderful for topping cakes and muffins but is equally wonderful on cinnamon buns or as a glaze on plain doughnuts!  You can keep any leftover frosting in an airtight container for just such an occasion!  So today I’m sharing my family’s favorite…and a sweet way to serve up something semi-homemade for a fall treat!

Wine and Chocolate Charcuterie DIY!

Wine and chocolate go hand in hand…in my opinion!  And when you combine a collection on a delicious charcuterie you’ve got a sweet treat that won’t disappoint!  Halloween will be different this year.  Our annual tradition of meeting friends for a multi family dinner party & passing out treats just isn’t going to happen this holiday.  As disappointing as that may be, it’s temporary and we can still find many ways to make the night special!  One treat I’m planning is to surprise my hubby with a wine and chocolate dessert board we can share!  Piled with full-bodied flavor and rich dark colors, this grazing tray is perfect for All Hallows Eve!  The drinks might be for the adults but you can substitute with any favorite mocktail for the 21 and under crowd!  And to please the entire family, we might just fire up the patio heaters and watch a holiday movie outdoors. So if you’re handing out treats, taking the goblins out, or just staying at home…wind down your Halloween festivities with a special treat made just for the grownup ghosts!

A Halloween pot pie will be a delicious & easy meal to serve to your family before your holiday festivities.  It’s one of my family’s favorites and I’m sharing my semi-homemade recipe that doesn’t disappoint!  I LOVE one-pot (or pie) meals that are filling, yummy AND quick!  No matter what your celebrations look like this year, you can whip this up in a snap…and dress it for the season too!  Using a purchased crust is how I roll…but you can certainly make your own if you wish.  Grab your favorite Halloween cookie cutter too…and let’s get this pot pie in costume!

Coffee and doughnuts are a yummy treat on any morning…but it’s super easy to dress them up for Halloween!  And I don’t know about you, but I often crave a cup of coffee for an afternoon pick-me-up! And now that it’s getting cooler, a warm toasty drink never sounded better! So no matter what time of day you’d like a warm sip…invite your “ghoul-friends” over for a festive “coffin” break!  I’m sharing some fun paper goodies for just such an occasion.  Just grab some simple treats from the bakery, get the coffee percolating and enjoy some holiday fun on the patio!

Naan Pizza for Dinner!

Naan pizza is a new favorite at my house!  Not only is it delicious, but it’s a quick and easy dinner that you can whip up in a snap!  You can make individual pizzas or slice them up into small bites as appetizers…either way, they won’t disappoint!  I keep packages of this yummy bread in my freezer so when I’m at a loss for what to make for supper, I always have this popular meal in my back pocket!  You can even use leftovers to create unique flavor combos for fun sampling.  Let me share with you some of our favorite toppings and easy recipes for this casual yet mouthwatering meal!

Ladies Night Lemonade Party!

A ladies night lemonade party was a fun way for me to celebrate with a few friends!  Late summer & early fall evenings are so perfect for enjoying the outdoors and some seasonal sips.  I was really lucky to start my little “stay-cation” and time off social media with this kind of small gathering!  And to say safe, we socially distanced around a table of lemonade-inspired drinks & desserts…and we each had an individual “charcuterie” filled with healthy nibbles!  The takeaway from this ladies night “in” (or “outside” I should say) was that simple goodies can still be grand!  Easy details from the kitchen & garden made simple snacks look pretty.  And as always, who’s gathered together is what makes any occasion a special one!  So when life deals out lemons…it’s definitely time to make lemonade!  Do you know what else?  PINK lemonade adds extra cheer!
