Autumn tones are lovely for easing into the fall holidays! Halloween is coming at us faster each year…and if you like to plan ahead it can be exciting to see all the color and spooky cuteness. But if you love to savor the seasons, you can still get in on the fun in a more subtle way. You don’t have to go all orange & black to celebrate the holiday. If you enjoy a more neutral palette I’d like to share some softer, sophisticated table ideas for your seasonal festivities! Colors that can work throughout the entire season will help you tweak your decor from late summer right up to the Thanksgiving feast! So let’s get some early “spooky” on and…
set an autumn inspired halloween table!
neutrals and soft amber give a subtle nod to the season…with a little holiday whimsy too!
a combo of preserved leaves and black glitter stems are casually tucked into a painted jack-o-lantern bucket…
you can tweak an arrangement like this by simply removing the black stems and placing the leaves in a different vessel for before or after Halloween!
layers of linens add color and texture. never be afraid to mix & match colors for a unique look!
recycled holiday hair ties make adorable AND inexpensive napkin rings!
sticking with more monochromatic color keeps the table simple & sophisticated…
and little details make it inviting!
more dried blooms on whimsical jack-0-lanterns tie the look together!
you can tuck these happy fellows anywhere around your dining area. the easiest decor!
decor tip:
inexpensive plastic pumpkins are easy to alter to fit your color palette. a can of spray paint can transform just about anything. if you’re painting anything plastic be sure to purchase paint manufactured for plastic so it will adhere properly.
creepy crawly crackers & cheese!
serving some spooky snacks adds to the fun!
how about some spider “bites”…the delicious kind!
what you need:
cracked pepper water crackers
honey goat cheese
fresh blackberries
plastic spider rings
place a thick slice of the goat cheese on each cracker. cut the ring portion off of the spider and top the cheese with the plastic bug. with a sharp knife, slice the top of each blackberry to create the body of the spider. simply place the berry on the back of each and you have some simple, spooky and delicious holiday snacks. DO NOT serve to children as they could pose a choking threat.
let the autumn tones of fall guide your holiday decor this year…
happy fall planning!
