Babybel bunnies will be the cutest addition to your holiday charcuterie or snack boards! You may have seen larger cheese shaped bunnies made with rounds of brie on Easter platters. I think they’re so darling but had to wonder if I could create a more 3-D version. While shopping the cheese counter for inspiration, I decided to try a mini version…and I’m so happy I did! These little bunny bites are such a whimsical (and delicious) way to add holiday charm to any cheese and cracker platter! You don’t have to be a food artist to make them either! So join me while I share the easiest and most fun-to-make charcuterie that’s perfect for any holiday snacking!
bunny bites on an easter charcuterie!
it can be so easy to create a fun treat for your family or holiday guests! all you need to make the bunnies are mini Babybel cheese rounds for the head and thicker slices of any firm, white cheese you like for the ears!
assembly tip:
while cutting the “ears” from the slices it’s easier to keep them more uniform in size if you make a template. i used parchment paper to give me a guide
once cut, you’ll attach them with toothpicks. use kitchen scissors or clean nippers to cut the toothpicks into small pieces (appx 3/4″ in size). carefully insert them into the base of the ear…
assembly tip:
i found it easier to insert the pointed edge of the toothpick into the ear. using a sharp tool to cut the picks will prevent splintering. you don’t want to use a piece that’s not smooth to insert into either end of the cheese pieces. and if you’re serving to little kiddos, please remove the picks before plating the snack so there’s no choking hazard
gently attach the ears to the head giving a fun, 3-D effect…
now it’s time to build your charcuterie! place your babybel bunnies where you like and begin adding your goodies around them…
i can’t think of a cuter & easier way to add holiday whimsy!
a healthy board all dressed for easter nibbling…
babybel bunnies bring smiles!
