Back to school season is upon us! Some kids still have a few days of summer vacation left and some have been back in the classroom for a while now…but no matter what date the first day of classes are, you can serve up a festive breakfast to celebrate the school year! Even if you don’t have littles in the house anymore you can still set a more grown up table with some grab-and-go goodies for the older kiddos in your life! By using simple school supplies you might already have around the house you won’t even have to shell out any dough…unless you’re actually purchasing pastries from the baker! Today I’m so excited to show you these simple ideas along with some of my blogger friends who will be sharing their recipes for some wonderful back to school goodies! So let’s start the school year right…
back to school is as easy as one, two, three!
now that my boys are older (and one is already in college) our back to school celebrations are much more casual. honestly, they don’t get excited about them like they did when they were little but i know they’ll remember the fun!
creating a special breakfast or an after school snack is a whimsical way to make the beginning of the school year more exciting…
i made it really easy by picking some favorite grab-and-go goodies from the grocer and some supplies from around my house…
the muffin toppers are die-cut number stickers popped on top!
a really fun way to use what you might have…but also an inexpensive decoration if you needed to buy it! stickers have been, and always will be one of my favorite decorating go-to items for so many celebrations!
vintage books are also fun to include…and if you have little kiddos, children’s books would be darling and i KNOW you’ll have some of those around!
i grabbed the globes out of my son’s room…and they’re perfect for that back-to-school vibe!
a little chalkboard layered with note paper made a fun “platter” for the muffins…
and how cute are the pears in this garage sale score that i normally use on my desk to hold supplies!
they really look sweet lined up on the table with other “decorations” right from the desktop!
a couple more stickers make a sweet detail…and those little touches always add charm to any display!
make a sweet & scholarly banner by stringing up flashcards…
you can attach them to twine with page markers or even paper clips to make this DIY decoration!
really easy ideas! use all or just one or two to make some back to school memories for your family!
so celebrate the first day OR any day in between!
and say “yay” to back to school!

I just love all your cool finds. That ruler holder and the chalkboard “tray” are so perfect! Love your store bought snacks – embellished as usual. You make it look so easy and what’s cool is that when you do it – you actually keep it do-able but still looking fantastic!
