If you saw any of the posts about the Giggle Spring Show you may have noticed all the stripey mason jars! I love canning jars for a multitude of uses…they make great storage options, cute vases, pencil holders–and the list goes on! Right now I’m infatuated with painted ones…particularly the stripes! So I not only created plenty for the show–but I have a fair amount around my own home! They’re really easy to paint to match your decor and they look especially fresh and fun on the patio! I added a little springtime to my dining room buffet with nothing more than a collection of mason jars painted with stripes…filled with blooms and candle light!

cans of paint and tape is all you need to give them some stripey color…and a little sandpaper will do the trick making them look well worn! (it also helps the light shine through if using them as a votive holder!) and speaking of candles…i found this wonderful mason jar accessory–a lid with LED lights inside! all you need is your own jar ring to hold it in place!
found at Meijer stores and Jo-Ann Fabrics this is a great alternative to candles! it comes with two sizes so you can fit a large or small mouth jar! (if you check out the link to JoAnn Fabric just search “mason jar LED light inserts” to find this great accessory for under $7!)
an inexpensive way to create a fun display–or make some up to hand out as gifts! so if you’ve got some old canning jars lying around…fill them will light or fill them with blooms, either way…
