If you’re like me, you may be torn between the seasons…but you can have some fun combining them both with a colorful fall table! The first signs of autumn are exciting and yet I’m not quite ready to completely let summer go…so I decided to mix it up and add bits of both seasons to a late-summer early-fall celebration! Bright florals, lots of pretty patterns, tiny pumpkins, and a touch of glam were the elements used to set an eclectic table to serve up tiny tea cakes to my friends. I hope you enjoy these simple ideas for a cheerful welcome to the new season!
welcome fall with a summer twist!
giggle living may have received payment and/or product. however i only endorse products i love and all opinions are my own
just because the calendar says september doesn’t mean that colorful blooms can’t take center stage! plenty of pattern-play & bright color can create an especially cheerful table including a touch or two of autumn!
bite-sized treats!
tiny mousse cakes shaped like blossoms were perfect bites of deliciousness for this simple celebration!
not only adorable, these sweet morsels came straight from the grocer! i kept them in the freezer until i was ready to serve!
presenting them on this gorgeous cake stand beautifully embellished with sparkle, made this simple snack look grand!
and behind the sparkly beauty i included more floral fun. my favorite banner from an earlier celebration along with diy pennants made from napkins!
place setting whimsy
layering plates can add interest to any setting! i mixed wood chargers, vintage dessert plates and colorful paper products…
alternating the solid colored plates was a great way to use up my leftover party supplies!
…and it looked really cute too!
to coordinate with the pretty cake stand, i replaced the pumpkin stems with a jewel! it elegantly held the flag in place…
it’s the little details that can make any celebration special and unique!
simple sips
i often serve up simple beverages at most celebrations. a pitcher of pink lemonade is effortless, pretty, and can easily be turned into a cocktail if desired!
since the table had plenty of flower-power, i added more blooms to the drinks…in stir-stick form!
it’s really easy to do! just cut the receptacle (the fat part of the stem near the bloom) long enough to insert a wood swizzle stick…easy peasy!
edible flowers like marigolds work beautifully. they’re sturdy, don’t wilt fast, and they add fall color to the summery table!
so if you’re stuck between the seasons…just blend them together to create something unexpected!
cheers to a colorful fall table!
