Candy candlesticks will look so festive topping your holiday desserts! Not only are they easy to make but they’re just as fun to eat too! This simple DIY takes just 3 ingredients and you don’t need special tools or candy making skills either! I promise just about anyone can create them and your guests will be wow-ed! So let’s get right to it because Christmas is just around the corner! DIY the soft glow of the season…
candy candlesticks for holiday joy!
simple goodies are all you need…
what you’ll need:
white chocolate chips
wafer straw cookies
marcona almonds
you could use roasted almonds or even raw but i love the crisp crunch and color of the marcona! (i’ll explain what the bowl of sugar is for soon!)
melt your chips in a microwave safe bowl 30 seconds at a time until it’s just soft enough to stir until smooth. you don’t want to overheat it.
with a spoon or offset spatula, cover your wafer cookie with the chocolate leaving 1/2-1 inch or so at the bottom…
once it’s coated place cookie in the bowl of sugar to set…
candy tip:
placing your cookie in the bowl will allow it to set upright keeping it from having a flat side. it won’t matter a bit if some of the sugar gets stuck in the candy!
it doesn’t take long for the chocolate to begin to set. use the spoon again to create a few drips at the top. you can drag the chocolate a bit to get the look you like. another dollop will hold the almond “flame” in place. once completely set you can place it on your dessert!
how cute are they on my family’s favorite pound cake! a few sprigs of rosemary and cranberries make a simple wreath…
whether your bake your own or dress up a grocer dessert these holiday candles will delight!
crown your cake with candy candles!
