Sometimes the simple, non-extraordinary things are the most treasured!  Maybe they remind us of times past or we just like them for no real reason–plain & simple!  Whatever it may be, I’d like to share a favorite, festive item that’s so whimsical and inexpensive, loved by kids and adults alike, and conveniently located in a multitude of shops!  The honeycomb ball…available all year in party stores this humble paper sphere has been a celebratory decorating staple for decades!  Offered in a multitude of color and design this old-style orb has come back into fashion in a big way!  Check out this favorite of mine all dressed in Thanksgiving attire…

A gift of candy is always a welcome one!  With Halloween approaching it’s time to think about those special treats you may need…for the host of a holiday party or just something unique for those little ghosts & goblins that are dearest to you! A friend brought me these darling Halloween candies that I thought we should share…not only adorable but equally as tasty!  If you’re in the Toledo area you may be familiar with Christie’s Candies and Mints–if not, you really need to pay them a visit!  Located on Central Ave. in the Cricket West Shopping Plaza this old fashioned confectionery is a wonderful place to grab any special treats you may need for all the holidays ahead!  Take a peek at these yummy sweets…just right to delight!

On my family’s final road trip of the summer we found ourselves in the most wonderful, gourmet pasta shop in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  The Local Epicurean had been mentioned to me a number of times by my mom who sings the praises of this lovely establishment and quite often brings us gifts of the mouthwatering, handmade pasta that they are so famous for!  Fortunately for me, I had the chance to stop in and see for myself what the buzz is all about!  Wow!  is all I can say…and if you ever get the chance to get there, it’s a stop worth making.  I won’t keep you waiting–take a peek for yourself…

It’s been a while since we’ve done a “favorite things” post…but this one is worth the wait!  A gift from one of Sarah’s friends, these fab little solar lights are some of the cutest we’ve ever seen!  And what’s even better?  They’re easily available at your local Bed Bath & Beyond!  Sometimes it can be a difficult search to find the combination of a vintage look paired with the convenience and functionality of new…but not with these sweet frosted mason jar lights!  Reminiscent of painted mason jars, these milky containers just need to soak up some sun to provide the soft glow of a candle without the actual flame! Perfect for outdoor entertaining–but just because they’re designed for outside, doesn’t mean they need to stay there!  Bring them in, leave them out, put them just about anywhere! So take a peek at these lovelies…then run out to get yours…

In February of 2013 I wrote about a wonderful chocolate shop that is certainly at the top of my favorites!  I had the luxury of visiting there recently and was not surprised that it was as much fun to go to Norman Love as it was to receive the little boxes filled with deliciousness on Valentine’s Day!  I’d like to share Norman Love Confections once again because they also sell the most adorable chocolate eggs…you still have time to let the Easter Bunny know to make a stop there before visiting your home!  So today I will share some Norman Love decadence and how you can get some for yourself…just in time for Easter!
