Christmas bells and cookies go hand-in-hand in my book! Once the holiday cheer commences…it’s time to fire up the oven and decorate some sweet fun! This Christmas won’t be the same but if you can bundle up, why not host an outdoor cookie “party” for a few of your besties! 2020 is all about getting creative with how we share our joys. This year, I decided not to host a cookie exchange, but bake goodies for my friends to package up as a gift from me! And to be safe I’ll host this tiny group on my patio! We can bundle up, have a cup of cheer, and my pals can box up some sweet treats to take home to their families! So let me share this outdoor inspiration that you might want to try this holiday! The Christmas bells are ringing…
time for cookies and good cheer!
the patio makes a safe place to share holiday joy…just a little bundling might be necessary!
some drop cloth “curtains” draped over tension rods help block the winter breezes for this little, cookie soiree…
it’s always fun to incorporate a little holiday humor!
and the simplest of decorations…candy canes tied with a jingle bell.
this menagerie of baked goods is displayed for the taking!
sweets to eat!
for a cookie exchange…or for just gifting, whip up some of your favorites! they can be Christmas cutouts or just beloved varieties!
decorated gingerbread cookies are a holiday must-have at my house…and i’m fond of minimal decor!
more gingerbread in the shape of bells…(that just happens to fit the theme) AND you never have to get too fancy with the decor to frost a pretty cookie!
my favorite molasses buttons…
mixed with more gingerbread trees. their whimsical shapes remind me of Whooville!
another family favorite, almond bites, look extra sweet piled in bake cups. a fun way to serve anything mini!
a gingerbread man stands watch over two delicious icebox goodies…chocolate black pepper and orange cranberry short bread!
not a huge variety…but baked, decorated and displayed with love!
fill a box!
my gal pals can pick & choose and package their goodies to take home! some holiday nibbling might take place too!
and extras are on hand for plenty of refilling!
sips with the sweets!
eggnog is such a festive holiday drink…and the spiked variety can help warm bones!
a small table is nearby…ready for some Christmas cheer!
i embellished the cordial glasses with some sparkling sugars…
super easy to do by dipping the rim in agave (or honey) and again in decorator sugar!
a festive, holiday sip to wash down the cookies!
so when the Christmas bells start ringing…
it’s time to eat cookies!
