Cinnamon cream cheese icing is my favorite way to top most treats! It’s a super easy to make and can turn a box mix into a treat that tastes like made-from-scratch! I use it all the time but it’s especially nice in the fall and winter with it’s hint of cinnamon! This icing is wonderful for topping cakes and muffins but is equally wonderful on cinnamon buns or as a glaze on plain doughnuts! You can keep any leftover frosting in an airtight container for just such an occasion! So today I’m sharing my family’s favorite…and a sweet way to serve up something semi-homemade for a fall treat!
fall never tasted so good…
with cinnamon cream cheese icing!
my family loves cinnamon and spice flavors…so when fall rolls around, i can’t resist filling my kitchen with the wonderful aroma!
but if you don’t have time for made-from-scratch, just use a pumpkin box mix, top it with a homemade frosting, and not many with know the difference!
you can dress up the simple cakes with pretty wrappers and a fun topper! i used mini cinnamon churros to make this ordinary, box-mix cupcake look anything but!
if you feel like it, you can tuck in some little pumpkins or favorite decorations when you serve them…
but let the cupcakes steal the show and delight the taste buds of whoever your serve them to!
cinnamon cream cheese icing…
is definitely nice!
