Country Western parties are classic and a theme that everyone will enjoy! They’re perfect for summertime celebrations because of their backyard, laid-back vibe. Inexpensive party food and simple decorations will make it easy on the host too! My family throws a “costume” party each year and this was theme for our most recent bash. Even though casual entertaining is normally how I like to roll, stepping it up once in a while is always a fun experience. Extra party fluff can still be easy to pull off with just a little extra prep time. I’d love to share some party tips and simple details that came together to create a really fun night! Let’s pull on the boots and get ready to boogie…
a country western classic!
invitations can definitely set the mood for the party and give guests and idea of what to wear or bring…
you don’t have to own a vintage truck, but if you have access to a pickup, using the tailgate is festive way to serve food or drinks!
serving up the sips…
galvanized tubs make wonderful leak-proof coolers! i love the rustic vibe and they’re easily found at home improvement or farm supply stores for not a lot of dough!
another casual container that most of us have in our garages…wheel barrels!
if you have a backyard, summer party, extra non-alcoholic beverages are a must! sweet tea was a refreshing treat…
and how cute are the vintage cups??
a lucky gift from my parents, but if you’re planning ahead for a particular theme, it’s always wise to keep your eyes open for fun finds when you’re out & about!
wine found it’s place on the buffet…
simple crates, trays and ice buckets hold all the goods to make it easy for guests to serve themselves!
but for a special treat…we also had a bar! a few mixed drinks served up by my adult son who has a passion & talent for handcrafted cocktails!
food table details…
our country western menu was fairly simple…tin containers of pulled pork, nuggets, and tater tots! sauces were a necessity so i gathered the bottles & jars together on a tray…
a tier of fruit looks even prettier with tiny faux pots of blooms tucked in…
and something with a kick…sriracha slaw! good alone on on a pork slider. cute tags dress up the casual presentation!
a small crate wrapped with an old pair of jeans was the perfect diy container for holding paper plates & napkins…
another tiny flower pot adds a pop of color and just looks cute for very little expense!
and of course, we can’t forget about munchies! the simplest crunchy snacks are perfect for this theme. baskets of peanuts scattered about…
and some chips & dips…all you need!
something sweet!
i only served cookies for dessert…but they definitely didn’t disappoint!
i mean look at these amazing creations from my favorite local baker and friend at Village Patisserie!
the sugar cookies matched the invites! a coordinated cookie collab using the design from my other talented friend who’s the genius behind Alice-Louise Press! pretty amazing how these ladies combined their skills!!
fun with flowers!
casual arrangements are the way to go for a country western party! dried grass & blooms tucked into tins & bottles decorate the bar in rustic style…
boots with sunflowers mimic the invites and are easy to create by tucking a container down inside!
party tip:
a reusable water bottle is the perfect size to slip inside a boot. it will hold water for your blooms without damaging the leather!
never be afraid to add unexpected whimsy like this hanging boot full of wildflowers! bandanas are tucked into the chain for a soft, western vibe!
and simple buckets hold blooms and candles on the table…
i mixed flowers from my garden with a few purchased bouquets from the grocer. an economical way to create pretty pops of summertime color!
a very rustic table sitting in the driveway still looks inviting with these simple embellishments!
party tip:
if you have good weather, don’t be afraid to bring your indoor seating outside. it can add comfort and beauty for no cost!
little extras…
garden fencing to keep feet off of an unfinished landscape project ended up being a decorative detail…
tiny bundles of faux and dried flowers are simply clipped on the fencing with a clothespin.
and extra hats found themselves on the hooks by our back door. a fun sight as guests go inside to grab the food!
kids in costume help with last-minute preparations. i love involving my entire family…it’s fun AND helpful!
and as the sunlight faded guests began to arrive.
for boot-scoot country fun!
i hope you found some inspiration for your next summer gathering!
