diy some holiday fun!
No. 1: peat pot baskets…
little baskets filled with sweet bites can be so easy and delightful to create…
here’s what you’ll need:
biodegradable peat pots
medium weight wire cut into 6-7″ lengths
wood shavings or paper shred
floral & greenery scraps (optional)
Easter candy
peat pots are easy to pierce with a piece of wire to make the basket handle. if you have difficulty pushing it through, use the tip of scissors to create the hole, then thread the wire from the outside going in…
gently bend the tip of the wire to form a loop to keep it secure…
do the same on the opposite side to make the handle.
i found some floral remnants to embellish my pots…
but i started by filling the base with a generous handful of paper shred. pack it down tightly to help keep the goodies from sinking down inside…
tuck your favorite candies inside along with some sprigs of faux flowers if you desire!
it really doesn’t take much to fill these sweet baskets and i’m sure they’ll make any recipient smile!
No. 2: potted “carrots” & bunny clips
what you’ll need:
tiny terra cotta pots
dark brown paper shred
Lindt carrot chocolates
mini wood clips
miniature wood bunnies
glue gun
wire snips or kitchen shears
clear treat bags & twine, optional
let’s begin with the clips. these tiny bunnies were already fashioned with a sticky dot on the bottom side…
to make them more permanent, i popped off the dot and used hot glue to secure them onto the clip.
now for the carrots. i’m sure you’ve seen these darling carrot umbrella candies in the stores…
but if you clip off the curved part of the “handle” it’s now just a carrot…
fill your tiny pots with the paper shred…
be sure to pack it in tight and then add some loose shreds to the top…
now tuck in your carrots…
twist the label to the back and they look like veggies popping out of the soil!
grab your clips and let’s package them up! i made simple name tags with card stock & stickers…
tuck your pots into the treat bags and clip the tag to the twine…
these would make lovely favors on a table too!
tiny treats that will bring great joy!
