Easy summer appetizers are exactly what I love to serve for casual gatherings on our patio. We love being outdoors with friends as often as we can, so having simple nibbles on hand comes in handy! And you know that simple never means it can’t look pretty, taste great, and even be on the healthy side. If you add a few simple details you can make a small spread look really inviting! I’d like to share some of my favorite goodies to keep in the pantry and some inspiration for serving them when the occasion calls! Enjoy every moment of the season…
summer appetizers made easy!
simple goodies look lovely clustered on a pretty tray. gather a few of your favorite bowls and some pretty napkins and you’ve got just what you need for an evening of nibbling…
one of my favorite serving pieces is a lazy susan. guests can spin it to easily reach all the goods! mine is stone, but you can find all sorts in stores & online!
nuts are something you can almost always find in my pantry. my family loves them and they’re shelf stable so i can stock up on plenty of extras!
olives are another staple that keeps well in the fridge. stock up on a few varieties because they’re a wonderful compliment to all kinds of savory appetizers!
and if you have a bottle of olive oil, you have half of what you need for my next favorite snack! your favorite herb blend added to the oil makes a lovely dip for bread. most people love it and the bread makes it a heartier treat! i used zaatar seasoning to flavor mine…
party tip:
put the oil and herbs in a sealed container & shake. let it marinate before serving so the seasoning will flavor the oil. be sure to shake it well again before pouring into the bowls. keep extra herbs out for sprinkling on top if you wish.
small bowls or saucers work well for serving the oil. scatter a few around the bread for communal dipping…
a baguette isn’t something you can keep in your pantry but worth the trip to the grocer before your guests arrive. it’s just the right size for snacking…
and you can make your tray of crusty deliciousness look extra good by simply garnishing with sprigs of fresh herbs! a lovely detail that you can even eat if you’d like!
it’s a simple treat that won’t disappoint! simple, tasty, and perfect for savoring the flavors of summer!
