Today I’d love to share with you a favorite party time go-to that can double as a favorite holiday decoration! If there’s one thing I love about decorating for the holidays it’s that you have permission to be as elegant, funky, dainty, neutral, colorful, or as whimsical as you want! I guess what I’m saying is that just like parties, holidays leave decorating options WIDE open! You might not want your living spaces to be so festive all the time…but every now and again it can be so fun to get outside your standard home decor zone and display your whimsical side! So what is this favorite item you might ask? Well, it’s paper party fans! You already know how much I love using tissue poms…and paper fan varieties are equally as wonderful! Let me share how I used some of my leftover party supplies to create a simple but festive Easter display on my buffet! It never was so easy to welcome the arrival of Peter Cottontail with the help from…
paper poms, paper globes, and paper fan-tastic!
pretty paper fans are adorning walls, backdrops, and tables at so many parties and events! they’re so cheerful and the wonderful thing is they’re plentiful too…and at very reasonable prices!
i recently styled an event that will be on the blog next week in a Springtime Holiday Blog Hop! i was lucky to have plenty of leftover party props to incorporate into this Easter display on my buffet…but you don’t need to have a bunch of party “leftovers” to economically create something similar! you can find plenty of paper poms and globes in an array of colors at local craft stores, party suppliers, and even at dollar stores!
i used mostly white poms and fans with some varying touches of green & teal mixed in. i really love to blend colors…not only can it be pretty but it will make a display look more dimensional and personalized! i also didn’t open all my paper fans completely. if you do, clip them together with a paperclip rather than using the adhesive, this way you can keep them in good shape to recycle later AND you can have the option of letting them stand half-open all on their own! a fun twist!
plenty of fans and honeycomb balls are now made with velcro tabs to hold them together. this is great news for those of us who LOVE to re-use! just have fun tucking them in around each other until you have the look you love!
i centered all the paper goodness around a look-alike chocolate bunny decoration that i simply placed on a cake stand with some mini honeycomb balls and Easter candies. a real chocolate or foil covered bunny would work too! OR any decoration you love…that’s the fun!
i think he looks exactly like the edible kind…but not nearly as tasty!
using all these party supplies can make any display look extra festive! so when you have a party, consider hanging onto some of the goodies…your next holiday might be calling for them!
get ready for Easter…
i hope you have some “fan”tastic fun!
don’t forget to check in on monday for another festive Holiday Blog Hop–this time filled with all kinds of springtime celebrations! you won’t want to miss all the fun!
i will then be taking a little time off to spend with my family! enjoy the “hop” next week and i’ll be back in April!
