A Halloween treat table is one of my favorite ways to celebrate the holiday with my family or friends! And can you believe that the countdown to all those frightful festivities is getting shorter already? Tricks & Treats are just around the corner! So today I’d love to share some really easy ways to whip up some darling goodies and decorations that will make all your favorite ghouls & goblins grin! Even if you don’t have a boo-bash planned, these ideas are so simple that you could make an after school snack feel like a party. Let’s get started…
decorate a halloween treat table…four ways!
giggle living may have received payment and/or product. however i only endorse products i love and all opinions are my own
table No. 1…traditional fun
no tricks just treats with a traditional table! plenty of orange and black deck out this simple spread…
a favorite decoration can be the crowning touch to any table. how adorable is this handlettered pumpkin!
treat cups filled with halloween snacks are perfect to grab-and-go…
and for something extra sweet…try filling a mini jack-o-lantern bucket with candy & a cupcake topped with a cookie!
table No. 2…ghostly goodies!
a table of treats never has to be elaborate to bring joy! dress up a cart with some milk & cookies for a ghoulish good time!
these darling jars sit on an inexpensive stand i painted with chalk paint…a really fun and easy diy!
i only had 4 holiday jars, so i included plain ones tied with a strip of fabric to match the sign and banner! the wind gave all the fabric a ghostly effect!
washi tape gives big bang for very little buck! a tiny piece can make a darling flag for a straw…just wrap, cut, and cuteness!
and a mini pumpkin is the perfect napkin weight for breezy afternoons or evenings!
last but not least…the cookies! simple shortbreads get a soft glaze of icing for a transparent look. i used a dollop of cookie icing and spread it thin with a dampened spatula…so easy!
table No. 3…colorfully cool!
there’s no rule when it comes to halloween color…just have fun!
i merely sprayed an old jack-o-lantern in apple green for a fun pop of brightness!
and colorful cups hold a halloween rainbow of popcorn goodness that won’t disappoint!
and why not add more fun by topping the crunchy cups with a tiny cake!
i think it resembles a cherry on top of a milkshake!
color coordinated candy isn’t a requirement…but when you find it, consider it a holiday bonus! i love the way it’s spilling from the pumpkin’s jagged grin!
table No. 4…don’t be a fraidy cat!
a black cat is never an unlucky sight…if it’s on a halloween treat table!
simple paper products helped me choose my color & theme. i turned the plates into an easy backdrop by attaching them to the wall with painters tape!
i repurposed this treat pail into casual floral arrangement…and easily tucked a piece of paper inside to hide the vase.
and since my family loves them & they fit the theme perfectly, Kit-Kat bars were tied to the milk bottles!
a variety of cupcakes look fun with different toppers! yellow gumballs on the chocolate cakes…
and black cat chocolates on the vanilla! i made these from a silicon mold…but had a little difficulty with the dark chocolate turning white. a dusting of sugar helped camouflage my mistake!
my friends at Bakers Party Shop passed along some helpful hints when working with molded chocolate:
- use candy melts such as Ghiraldelli rather than chips which have extra ingredients in them to hold their shape which may affect the appearance after the chocolate hardens
- or try candiquick almond bark, which works well in molds and comes in darker chocolate. almond bark is great for coating or dipping fruit, cake pops or candies too!
but the moral of the story is, there’s usually a way to fix any mistake…don’t tell the guests, they’ll think you planned it that way!
a table full of sweets no matter how simple…will always be the cat’s meow!
happy treating!
