parfaits are SO easy…just layer cake, berries & whipped cream! a ghostly topper makes them just right for halloween!
all you need to make them is white chocolate, chocolate pearls or mini chips, parchment or wax paper & a small spatula.
melt the white chocolate in the microwave and simply spread a thick swipe with the spatula on the paper. add eyes and “presto”!
let the ghosts cool…then top your desserts!
parfait ingredients:
you can use any purchased or baked cake & fruit that you love. these parfaits included our favorite dark chocolate cake, blackberries, blue berries (keeping it dark for the holiday) and orange honey whipping cream: whip one carton of heavy cream with 1-2 tablespoons honey until soft peaks form. then fold in the zest of one small orange.
gauzy cupcake liner DIY
mini cupcakes are always a delicious & easy go-to for celebrations. give them some extra “spooky” by topping them with meringues and serving them in a frightfully fun way…
ghost topper tip:
if you don’t have ghost meringues, you can substitute with a regular marshmallow and add candy eyes. you could also use any white candy or Peep marshmallows shaped like ghosts. with the darling cups, you don’t even need to top your cake as all!
here’s how you make the gauzy cups…
cut gauze or white cheesecloth into roughly 3 1/2- 4″ square sections…
lightly coat each piece with a clear glue. you don’t have to saturate the entire square…
turn a sturdy baking cup over the top of old bottles & drape the glue-coated gauze pieces over each to begin drying…
gently pry the gauze off the bake cups, and set upright to finish drying. i love the whispy look…just like a ghost!
place a mini cupcake in each for a spooktacular treat!
easy peasy…
and ghoulishly good ghost themed treats!
