I love miniature things…I always have! When I was little I had quite a collection of miniature figurines and objects. I also had a doll house and was the most enamored with the tiniest things within it. One of my childhood fantasies was wishing to be one of The Borrowers! (remember that book?) To me, there’s something sweet and endearing about miniature things…and I still love to incorporate them into my decorating or entertaining whenever I can! Since Halloween is a holiday that’s particularly whimsical, it’s a great time to have a tiny bit of fun!
itty bitty Halloween touches…
let me show you some tiny embellishments i just adore for the holidays! you can go to any craft store these days and find pre-made buntings…and guess what? they come in miniature sizes too! this tiny garland looks adorable loosely draped over a wire pumpkin…
and i didn’t really want to put my iron bunny away until next spring so i used a piece of the garland to make a “collar” and and rolled up a black sticker to make him a mini party hat! now he fits right in with the Halloween decorations!
since i love tiny things…i’m sure it’s no surprise that i love the littlest pumpkins and gourds! i always search the bins in hopes of finding the smallest of all! three little orange gourds top off some vintage juice cups in my kitchen…
and i had to include a bit of the fall holiday in my gnome garden too!
the tiny additions are just right for the season! if you don’t have a fairy or gnome garden, you could easily create one in a terrarium…a fun way to combine gardening & playing with miniatures!
and if you’re entertaining, I’ve got a really easy way to add one of the tiniest embellishments to a holiday treat. a plastic spider can effortlessly add some spooky fun to any dessert! i simply placed some creepy bugs on this purchased pumpkin roll…
tiny touches are easy, adorable, inexpensive, and every bit as festive!
