Helping Hands

I believe I’m not alone in feeling like I don’t have enough hands to get everything done in a day!  Regardless of circumstances, most of us could use a helping hand around the house with many of those little things that just get overlooked when life happens!  I’m a big proponent of delegating chores to children…nothing crazy, but just enough to participate in keeping our home as orderly as possible!  But as much as I think it’s a wonderful lesson in responsibility, somehow our “family chores” never seem to remain a consistent routine.  Enter the “Chore Board”…a fun and visual way to assign chores to my kids–and the concept came from a television program!  I have to admit that I love to watch re-runs of Supernanny...I think she has brilliant ideas for managing households with kids of all ages!  The “Chore Board” is an inspired version of an idea by Supernanny herself, Jo Frost!  Even though I can’t take credit for this fabulous concept, it’s definitely worth sharing with all the busy mom’s out there that could use a helping hand!

a fun way to pick & display daily chores…

a magnet board is great for visually showing the task of the day!

what makes it fun?  each day they pick from a bag that holds a variety of tasks!

fill with plenty of choices to mix it up and keep it interesting!

each child can pick one or two per day…some are easy, some more challenging, but the change-up keeps it from getting monotonous!  you can easily customize them to suit kids of all ages…and tikes that can’t read could choose from photos of age appropriate tasks!

so not to be forgotten!
