Holiday treats are always appreciated this time of year. I love to serve up something fun, especially when it can be outdoors…even in winter! You can make wonderful memories with family or friends by treating them to something unexpected. Bundle up, grab some blankets and try serving some Christmas s’mores in your backyard! It doesn’t have to be a grand setup either. A few simple edibles, something to sip, and a fire for roasting is all you need! Spread the joy and treat your peeps…
baby it’s cold outside…time for holiday s’mores!
if you have a fire pit you’re all set for marshmallow roasting! if you don’t, not to worry. tabletop varieties will do the trick too!
entertaining tip:
most tabletop fire units will burn isopropyl alcohol or sterno fuel containers. if you don’t have a fire pit, try dropping a sterno can inside a terracotta pot (or other heat-safe container), using a tabletop grill with charcoal, or even a cluster of pillar candles. anything that will toast your mallows will work!
you don’t need a huge spread either! small plates hold snowball & ginger cookies and snowflake shaped marshmallows!
a skewer at each setting gets a simple red & white twine bow. an easy way to make them special for holiday mallow roasting!
eggnog is a holiday favorite! a cute gift tag dresses up the bottle. if it’s really chilly outside, try hot cocoa!
i always serve something to cut the sweet so a few sparkling waters are at hand. great thing about this time of year, cold drinks don’t need ice!
and still a favorite for fun sipping…paper straws! always cute even if just on display!
a fabric remnant is all i used to add cozy, holiday charm. a reminder you don’t need to haul out your special linens!
entertaining tip:
other fun, tabletop alternatives include fuzzy throws, scarves, linen napkins, even a square of wrapping paper!
so grab some cozy clothes, simple goodies, and serve holiday s’mores in the great outdoors!
cheers to holiday treats served outside!
