Easter is coming…and today I’m so excited to share how to make bunny tail truffles! Have you seen all the bunny backside treat inspiration out there lately? It’s so fun and whimsical and perfect for surprising your family & friends during holiday celebrations! I’m so happy to have some extra time to plan my Easter festivities…the calendar is definitely cooperating this year! So if you’re thinking ahead to bunny inspired fun, this DIY project is really sweet and honestly, you don’t even need the extra time in order to make them! I hope you love them as much as I do!
try your hand at bunny tail truffles!
these sweet little candies would delight any guest at your table…
here’s how you make them…
what you need:
white chocolate candy truffles
white chocolate melting wafers
pink cookie icing
white cookie icing
white sprinkles
i made the little feet for my bunnies first…these tiny melting chocolates were the perfect size and they taste better than artificial candy coating!
i just popped a few on parchment paper and microwaved them until i could manipulate the shape with my fingers! you can see some of the finished ones in this photo too…
purchased cookie icing is perfect for decorating. cut the tip of the icing pouch at the very end so that it’s easy to squeeze out tiny dots. don’t cut too big of an opening like you would to frost cookies, or you might flood the paw with too much icing!
now for the bunny backsides…
i happen to love Lindt chocolates…but any solid truffle will do! you could also use milk chocolate (and you can find the tiny wafers in traditional chocolate too!)
these truffles had a natural bump which i took advantage of for making the bunny tails…if you look closely you can see them!
white sprinkles will give the tail a “fluffy” look…
just add a dollop of white cookie icing to the “dot”, top with sprinkles, and set to dry…
i used an artificial greenery mat to hold my candy in place…but you could set the truffle in a tray of rice or beans…anything that will prevent it from rolling!
when the tails are dry, it’s time to add the feet! i used more cookie icing to adhere them to the bum…
you could also melt extra wafers to make chocolate “glue” but either will work to hold the feet in place! you may have to adjust them a tad while they dry but the process is truly easy!! and how can anyone resist this sweet backside popping out of a treat cup?
i’ll be sharing how i used these cuties in next week’s post…so i hope you stay tuned!

You are a genius! I’m not surprised though. I love that these are store bought truffles that are dressed to the nines!
