Simple appetizers are so great for small gatherings and casual entertaining. And I love to keep easy snacks on hand if we decide to have an impromptu get together with a neighbor or two! Just because our gatherings these days are smaller doesn’t mean we can’t make them look lovely! It can be so simple to style ANY kind of snack to create an inviting AND delicious table of nibbles! The best way to do this is to shop your house for a few goodies to add color or texture to your table top. And if you have any simple collections or decorative items you love, don’t be afraid to incorporate them. Today I’m excited to share some ways I created an appetizer table with easy food and simple household items & decorations. My motto is it never has to be fancy to be grand! Just let your imagination lead you and you’ll style a festive snack that will let your personality shine! Summer is in full swing…so set out a seasonal treat for your next little celebration!
simple appetizers in summer style!
pile the table with snacks, greens, and a pop of color to make a small spread look amazing!
don’t have a table cloth? use tea towels instead! they add color and can be used in the kitchen afterward!
my collection of mason jars worked as rustic vases to hold bouquets of herbs rather than blooms…
as well as some appetizer forks…
pretty melamine plates are great for holding tiny bites, and they’re less prone to breakage!
i love to casually place the dinnerware around the table…it creates a relaxed atmosphere!
the same goes for the munchies & decorations. i used a beaded garland from my fireplace mantle to wind through the simplest of appetizers!
scattering everything about makes the table appear full and provides a laid-back, summer vibe!
and adding extra edible decorations like these tomatoes makes this tiny crudite platter seem bigger than it really is!
the same idea works with the cheese platter. just a few herbs and berries will effortlessly gussy-up this pair!
another really easy AND satisfying appetizer is bread & dipping oil! infused oil can be set right on the table…
with tiny bowls so guests can help themselves to their own individual serving.
try dressing up the loaf of crusty bread with herbs on top. such an easy detail that makes it look special!
so grab the goods from your kitchen & around the house, keep the mood relaxed…
and gather around a table full of simple appetizers!
chow!
