Last-minute Thanksgiving treats are the most perfect…especially when it’s actually last-minute! But all kidding aside, even though there’s still time to bake up some holiday goodies, you don’t need to. The treats I’m sharing today are SO easy you could literally make them on Thanksgiving Day with time leftover! And not only are they delicious as is, they could also double duty as cupcake toppers or embellish a pie! They’re easy enough for kiddos to create and are definitely fun for the whole family to eat! I’m even sharing a grownup surprise…treats aren’t just for the kids right? So let’s get in the kitchen for some holiday fun!
last-minute treats…Thanksgiving joy!
a stand full of sweet acorns would look festive on your holiday dessert table…and you can whip them up in no-time with purchased goodies right from the grocer!
two different styles…each equally as simple to create.
here’s what you need to make both…
Hershey’s Kisses
Nutterbutter cookies
chocolate jimmies
pretzel sticks
you’ll also need chocolate chips for melting and some wax or parchment paper
gather the goodies and with a knife, split the peanut butter cookies in half and break off the finished ends of the pretzel sticks to make stems for your acorns…
make the “stems” smaller for the kisses to keep the acorn in proportion.
the same method of decorating applies to both acorns. melt the chocolate in a small bowl and dip the flat portion of the candy or cookie to make the cap of the acorn…
then press the tops into the jimmies and stick on the stem while the chocolate is still wet. lay them on parchment to set.
i used an extra pretzel to help hold the longer “stem” on the cookies in place…
once dry, you can use them to decorate cakes or pies…or just eat ’em!
i did mention i had one for adults right? how about something sweet paired with a sip…with a nip?
this creamy pumpkin spice wine reminds me of Rumchata…so it’s a lovely drink to sip as a cordial!
so why not add a sweet treat to the cordial glass?
you might remember the little pumpkin spice cupcakes from my last post…i just love this unexpected way to present them!
you could use any mini cupcake topped with a seasonal candy. these marshmallows are just so fun and perfect for Thanksgiving!
something fun to serve up to the adults at the table!
for the kids…for the adults…something for everyone!
easy Thanksgiving treats!
have a wonderful Thanksgiving everyone! I’ll be back in December with lots of holiday fun!
