Mother’s Day is coming soon…and that means it’s time for special breakfasts, brunches, or dinners to celebrate mom! Today I’d like to share an almost effortless way to dress up your table no matter what you might serve up! I love the idea of a simple breakfast dished out on a pretty tabletop…but that doesn’t mean it requires a lot of work to make it look festive. Let me share these easy ideas with you…
set a springtime table…
i happen to love setting pretty tables…i also love easy cleanup! i guess it’s lucky that there are so many gorgeous paper products out there now! these sweet, blue party supplies from Michaels reminded me of vintage transferware patterns and i knew they’d be perfect for a Mother’s Day celebration! there were plenty of items to choose from in this pretty collection…but you don’t need to purchase them all to get a lovely look!
i used my everyday dishes and topped them with a paper dessert plate and cocktail napkin. the larger, scalloped napkins when unfolded made a colorful “charger” on top of my craft paper table covering…easy, AND disposable! i also used some extra napkins to cut out the bluebird table scatter…a really fun way to tie a theme together without any extra cost!
coordinating paper straws look cute in the lemonade spritzers!
and for a special touch on the place setting for mom…a little bird clip attached to her fork!
another tiny craft bird makes a sweet cake topper for the mini muffin tray by simply inserting a toothpick to the bottom of the birdie and crowning the center treat!
and if you think that mini muffins are all that’s on the menu…think again! i’ll be sharing one of my favorite brunch casseroles later this week so you can whip it up in time for the holiday!
for the centerpieces, i simply placed a mason jar filled with blooms inside each paper treat box and i LOVE the way they turned out! i feel very lucky to have an abundantly blooming snowball bush outside my kitchen door…but these pretty boxes would look gorgeous with simple foliage, packages of pansies from the garden center, or even artificial flowers! use what you’ve got!
i’m a firm believer that paper products can look equally as lovely on a table…and the luxury of an easy cleanup reinforces that belief every time i use them!
celebrate mom…
with a table that’s as sweet as she is!
check back on Thursday to grab the printable recipe for a favorite casserole that was handed down from my mom!
