old-fashioned cobbler…just peachy!
giggle living may have received payment and/or product. however i only endorse products i love and all opinions are my own.
with just a few supplies and ingredients from the kitchen, a summertime celebration can be made…
a cake banner made especially for our favorite dessert makes it look like something extra special!
i added a couple fresh peach slices, mint & edible flowers to the top…another pretty way to dress up this simple cobbler.
a few paper products were just perfect for the theme and are always the best for easy cleanup too!
i found some vintage doilies in my linen drawer and they blended perfectly with the cute napkins! it’s a good idea to scour your supplies because you often find decorative goodies you forgot you had!
and the paper plates have raised edges making them perfect for holding ice cream…which is tucked inside the ice bucket!
if you serve it in a cooler you can keep it cold longer and scoop it up ahead of time! it can go from freezer to table in a snap!
and to dress up my serving station i added a pushpin board decorated with pom fringe! a super simple backdrop using a borrowed item from my “office”…
you don’t need fancy decorations to let your family scoop some summertime fun! old-fashioned peach cobbler…
just peachy!

- 4 Cups canned peaches, drained can use fresh if desired, plus 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
- 1/4 Cup white sugar
- 1/4 Cup brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1 Cup flour
- 1/4 Cup white sugar
- 1/4 Cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 6 Tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled cut into small pieces
- 1/4 Cup boiling water
- 3 Tablespoons white sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. Drain the canned peaches and add to a medium bowl. (if using fresh peaches, peel and thinly slice the peaches, approximately 6-8 peaches, and add 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice). Add the remaining first group ingredients and toss to evenly coat the fruit. Place in a 2 quart baking dish and bake for 5 minutes (10 minutes if using fresh fruit)
- In a large bowl combine flour, white & brown sugars, baking powder, and salt. Blend in butter with a pastry blender or fork until mixture resembles a course meal. Stir in water until just combined into a batter.
- Remove peaches from the oven and drop spoonfuls of the batter over the top.
- Mix the white sugar and cinnamon together and sprinkle over entire cobbler. Bake until topping is golden and edges are bubbly, about 30 minutes. Cool or serve slightly warm. Delicious with vanilla ice cream.

Oh thank you so much! I really appreciate that! The ice cream container is actually a vintage ice bucket I found at a flea market but I have seen some sort of similar on Amazon. And that old scoop is vintage too but I bet you could find one on Etsy…maybe even the ice bucket! xo
