Mother’s Day will soon be here and today I’m teaming up once again with some of my Instagram friends to share DIY projects, celebration inspiration, and gift ideas for all the special moms in your life!  I’ll be explaining the details at the end of the post, but you won’t want to miss all the fun from these talented ladies!

If you’re a mom you already know how special those kid-creations are!  There aren’t many things more treasured than handcrafted gifts made with sweet, tiny hands!  Nothing brings such joy as seeing those crooked vases and hand-print masterpieces that grace our mantles and walls giving us wonderful memories for years to come!  But the appreciation for handmade treasure isn’t limited to gifts from tiny tots…anything created from the heart can be such a special way to show the people we love how much they mean to us!  So with Mother’s Day coming soon, I’d like to share with you a pretty DIY gift idea for Mom or anyone you want to shower with some love!  Bring smiles with gifts…

Happy May everyone!  Can you believe that it’s the 5th month of the new year already?  And speaking of the 5th…Cinco de Mayo is this Friday so I sure hope you have something fun on your calendar!  I love to have a fiesta inspired meal on the 5th…and usually several days leading up to the holiday we indulge on a treat or two since one day just doesn’t seem sufficient to gorge ourselves on our favorites!  Today I’m sharing a fiesta dessert table which can be a sweet way to celebrate the holiday without serving up an entire meal!  And I’m also including some more EASY DIY projects that can help to decorate your serving station…AND are simple enough that the kids can help!  So let’s get ready for a sweet fiesta on Friday!

Cinco De Mayo is just over a week away!  It’s such a fun and festive holiday to celebrate with friends or family…and it never needs to be overwhelming!  The best part about a fiesta is that anything goes, the food can be so simple and yet so tasty, and you REALLY can find whimsical ways to pull off a party-time snack table on a dime!  Let me share with you some ways I recycled my Cinco De Mayo supplies from our family fiesta to create a snack cart for hungry kids…or anyone who wants to have a little May 5 fun!  I’m also including more super simple DIY projects…so come on, let’s get ready to fiesta!

Family Fiesta

Cinco De Mayo is coming up soon and while I often times try to add some fiesta fun to some snacks or meals for my family, I don’t normally decorate my home for the holiday.  I might add some party supplies to serve up a treat or create some whimsical tabletop decor for our May 5th meal…but I’ve honestly never given much thought to decorating beyond that!  Since there’s almost two weeks until the celebratory day, I decided to fill the empty space on my dining room buffet with a little Cinco De Mayo fun!  Just like the end of any holiday, my rooms seemed a bit bare after the Easter decorations were packed away!  And though I don’t want to smother my spaces with pinatas and streamers (unless I’m having a party!) I did think it might be nice to create a simple display with understated touches of a traditional fiesta!  Let me share with you how I decorated my dining room for the holiday and incorporated those decorations into a family snack to get us excited and inspired for the 5th of May!

Easter is now behind us and I hope you all had a wonderful holiday!  But just because all the bunny inspired decorations and activities are over doesn’t mean there’s not plenty of springtime festivities ahead!  I’m referring to the colorful celebrations of Cinco De Mayo…but spring is filled with plenty of opportunities to have some extra fun!  We’ve all been so ready to ditch the snow shovels and fling open the windows that we need nothing more than the sweet signs of warm weather to throw an “everyday” party to rejoice in the new season!  So while I’m sharing some sneak views of what I’ve got planned for the 5th of May, these fun & simple ideas can help you decorate and celebrate for any occasion!  The next couple weeks will be filled with fiesta-style inspiration…spring & summer are the perfect seasons for colorful festivities & decor!  See what’s coming…

Each holiday I try to squeeze in a breakfast inspired by the season.  Creating a special morning treat is relatively easy since you can use so many prepared foods to make it a cinch!  I often serve up some morning fun in the days leading up to the holiday…it really extends the festivities and is less stressful than trying to pack multiple celebrations into one day!  So with the long weekend arriving tomorrow, it just might be the perfect time for you to surprise your family with an Easter breakfast or brunch!  I’d like to share how I used ordinary food from my fridge to make a morning treat fit for the Easter Bunny!
