A patriotic centerpiece is a fun decoration for 4th of July celebrations…especially when there’s a little crafting involved!  Today I want to share a fun idea I’ve been wanting to try using dried blooms from my garden.  Simple materials make this DIY project economical and easy enough for kids to do too!  So even though the fourth is just around the corner, you can still have some fun making “fireworks” that will last!  Let’s get crafty…

Chive blossom vinegar is as pretty as it is tasty!  If you have chives in your garden, you can make this condiment to use for salads or summer recipes.  It would make a lovely gift too!  Other herbs will work well, so don’t fret if you don’t have the blossoms on hand.  I’ll share some other options in the post…the basic tutorial is the same.  What I love about this particular infused vinegar is the gorgeous pale color and mild onion flavor!  So lovely for using in light salad dressings and it will look pretty on the table too!  Lets add flavor from the garden…

Star spangled decor is always festive for patriotic celebrations!  Starting with Memorial Day through the 4th of July, you’ll see lots of red, white & blue, stripes, AND stars! Today I want to focus on those five-pointed goodies with a few easy DIY ideas.  We just enjoyed the “unofficial start of summer” festivities and I made some simple table decorations that will be perfect for the 4th too!  You can make these DIY arrangements with faux or fresh flowers and simple supplies from your local craft store.  So let’s get ready for the next round of patriotic fun!
