You all know how much I love to entertain…and keeping a few party supplies at my fingertips makes it easier & more affordable to invite friends in or surprise my family with an unexpected treat! I’d like to share a couple facts about entertaining: it’s not necessary to have party-planning experience to make your guests feel special ~ you don’t need to own tons of party decorations to make things look festive ~ you don’t need to spend a lot of money ~ you DEFINITELY don’t need an actual excuse to celebrate! So today, let’s look at entertaining more like planning out a meal…you can stock up for occasions just like you do your food pantry! I’m really excited to show you some of my favorite supplies I always keep on hand to make my celebrations as easy as they are fun! I’ll even share a peek at how I store them! Grab a pad & paper and put some of these goodies on the list…
party supplies for “any day” parties!
party supplies are a bit different from decorations…while they can be used as decorations, they’re often multi-functional and can be affordable alternatives!
paper goods & jars
i love to keep pretty paper straws on hand…they’re inexpensive and they can make any beverage look festive! how sweet are they in a mason jar “glass”…another favorite party pick!
i almost always keep extra paper products handy. neutral patterns and colors can make them useful for multiple occasions!
but when holidays are near…something specific can be extra festive! stock up after each holiday for a great deal!
more with mason jars…
they can be containers, they can be cups, AND they can be vases!
by clustering several jars together, you can make a few simple stems look grand! a wonderful way to stretch the floral budget!
dessert stands & cupcake decorations
i love having an assortment of cake stands and cupcake goodies in my stash! perfect for dressing up the bottoms…
and the tops of any treat!
even a simple snack looks spectacular on a pedestal! a dessert stand can be a small investment but it really makes a statement! (and there are plenty of affordable choices out there!)
serving boards & trays
little trays & boards are favorites for all occasions…and votive candles always add extra ambiance! i keep a few battery operated ones around for areas that a flame could be dangerous!
white platters or wood boards will blend with any decor & a pretty spreader or spoon might also be necessary depending on what you serve. i love vintage ones…
and a seasonal one or two!
glassware is something you may already have…but remember it’s OK to set out a mismatched selection. a large tray allows the beverages to be portable…and it looks pretty too!
a pretty drink dispenser can make H2O look special! this plastic beauty was less than $12 so it doesn’t have to be a big investment…and don’t forget the disposable cups!
storage solutions
an odd nook in my kitchen is where i keep my goods…
this hutch is a functional alternative in a space with no cabinetry storage!
glass containers are fun for holding the colorful cupcake liners…and i can see exactly what i have on hand!
tiny supplies
the littlest things can help you decorate! small clips & pushpins will hang banners, attach tags, or just adorn a favor!
twine and tags are great for wrapping gifts but you can also use them to string buntings and label food or favors!
i keep plenty of varieties on hand for all sorts of options…
let’s decorate!
speaking of banners…plain buntings from the craft store can help you create a festive decoration in a snap! the chalkboard bunting will let you easily add a message with a marker…
and you can customize ANY paper or fabric bunting with my next favorite…STICKERS!! they’ll embellish just about anything!
you can always keep a few “real” party banners in your inventory, and if you store them carefully you can use them again! draped over or above a serving table, a banner can make the mood more festive!
supplies for diy & recycling fun!
i love a good supply that can serve many purposes…which is why i love wrapping paper! it has an obvious use but have you considered creating your own diy backdrop or table runner with it?
i love recycling just about anything…so an old spice container now holds appetizer forks AND wine corks can become fancy food labels with glue, glitter and a paperclip popped on top! both fun & useful details!
quick, pre-party clean-up
it might not be a party supply…but it DEFINITELY helps me when i’ve got guests coming! a big basket is perfect for tucking away piles of paperwork, toys, shoes or any other mini messes you might have!
sweet treats
you can’t have a gathering without a treat or two, so be sure to keep some pantry staples on hand! candies are one of the easiest sweets to serve…
i also love to freeze cookies & cupcakes…when i have guests coming, i can pop them out and frost! you can also let the grocer help you with affordable and delicious choices!
a celebration can be easy, inexpensive AND still look every bit as grand…
when you have all the simple party supplies to help you along! i hope some of my favorites inspire you to enjoy more festivities, big OR small!
cheers to celebrating!

Can I be YOU when I grow up!? I completely agree with everything here and have my own stash for sure but I am SO IMPRESSED with how you store everything so beautifully. Mine are a tangled mess. I love that hutch with all your cake stands. It’s so beautiful. Someday I WILL come visit and see your pretty house.
