With two boys, I don’t often use pink when entertaining or decorating…so when I get the chance to host some girls for any occasion…I jump on it! An opportunity to say “thanks” to some friends helping with a project came about–and a simple picnic lunch seemed fitting for the occasion and season! Not an elaborate event, but fun nevertheless…and a chance to “girl” it up a bit! Here’s an easy way to throw together a sweet picnic for any situation!
gather simple supplies for an easy event…
my old tool box holds all the paper products…super cute and easy to move around!
paper boxes (from the $1 bin at Target)…
keep all the supplies organized in the box
lots of stripes in different sizes are so whimsical…
and the paper bunting makes it feel like a party!
a garden statue & flowers are perfect props for a picnic!
and a single tag lets everyone know what they’ve come for!
add a simple menu…
& set out some very easy food!
a couple small platters of mini sandwiches…
each wrapped in parchment & twine
a menu doesn’t have to be elaborate to look cute
use jars, buckets, cake stands or any other containers to hold ordinary food in an extraordinary way!
even calling the cookies “buttons” makes them sound tastier!
don’t feel like plating it all up? try filling a good old fashioned paper bag…
with a little pink of course!
who wouldn’t love a picnic lunch in this simple container? pile them on a tray or in a small crate…super easy & just as cute!
no matter how you serve up a picnic–or why…
have fun making your guests or family feel special!
