Simple summer treats are exactly what I’m serving up these days. Nothing super spectacular…but still every bit as festive! It’s easy to do too if you have just a few summertime staples on hand in your pantry! Now that many of us are finally venturing out into the grocery stores, it’s easy to keep some goodies on hand for last minute snack ideas! And though our new normal might not be the same as it was, everyday celebrations can still be had! Today I’m sharing some of the easiest and happiest treats to bring smiles to the faces we love. Summer & sprinkles go hand-in-hand in my book…and that’s exactly how I’m dressing up my goodies this season! Get ready to sprinkle the joy…
dress up summer treats with sprinkles!
giggle living may have received payment and/or product. however i only endorse products i love and all opinions are my own
“sundae fun day!”
sprinkles, jimmies, nonpareils…all different kinds of treat toppings and they all mean “happy” to me! but you can add or substitute lots of other cheerful goodies to perk up your party food…
not long ago we created some summertime deliciousness with an unexpected flavor twist…Froot Loops!
cereal can be a fun and colorful topping for desserts of all kinds! and it’s kind of like a breakfast…just with frozen milk! 🙂
but another unexpected breakfast treat made the sundae flavor-of-the-day cut…PopTarts!
a rough chop of the Froot Loops toaster pastries along with the real McCoy and some simple decorations…
come together to make an irresistible summer treat!
these iridescent dessert spoons were a fun addition…but any utensil will do for gobbling up this icy treat!
and i raided my bar to find some leftover drink umbrellas…really fun for more than cocktails!
create some summer vibes with cereal, sprinkles and sundaes!
“cookies in the garden!”
one of the easiest and favored treats has to be the cookie! but you can take it up a summertime notch by serving them outside!
a rustic chair draped with some pom fringe can make a sweet & unexpected “table” for some cookies and iced tea…
since the treat is served in the garden, a sprig or two of thyme makes a pretty & flavorful garnish…
i love keeping fresh herbs in the garden or a pot to add fresh details to appetizers and drinks!
but the anticipated treat…snickerdoodles with the prettiest sprinkles!
keep some favorite cookies in the freezer so you can whip up a treat without firing up the oven! a little easy decorating makes it look like you slaved all day!
keep it whimsical, keep it sweet…that’s what summer is all about!
“ice cream sandwiches…bite sized!”
another summer favorite has to be ice cream sandwiches! you can make these babies ahead and pop them out of the freezer for a refreshing treat on a hot day!
but when it’s REALLY hot, it can be a challenge to serve them! i came up with a plan on our first 90-something day by filling an urn with ice…
before topping it with my bowl of mini sandwiches!
not only does it help keep them cool, it looks cute too! a fun way to serve them up for a party when you have parties again!
and mini ALWAYS means you can eat more right? they’ll disappear so fast they won’t have time to melt!
so make up some minis and serve up the smiles!
treat your peeps to sprinkles…on summertime treats!
