When May marches in…it’s time to celebrate the season with May baskets! The first of the month, otherwise known as “May Day”, is an opportunity to surprise a special friend, neighbor or anyone whose day you might want to brighten by leaving a sure sign of spring on their doorstep! When I was growing up we would always make May baskets and leave them throughout the neighborhood…ringing the doorbell and running before the recipient could see who left the springtime surprise! An endearing tradition that, unfortunately, lots of people are unaware of! A sweet and simple May basket idea was prompted by tiny gifts we made for friends visiting over the Easter holiday…little baskets intended for miniature eggs inspired a wonderful and easy creation for a May celebration!
