Tailgate parties and fall seem to go hand-in-hand! Whether it’s to celebrate a big game or just a fun way to serve up some goodies, tailgate festivities can be some of the most memorable ways to enjoy the season! And aside from having some tailgate fun, my family also loves to indulge on the fruits of the season…apples! Each year we load up the car with family and sometimes friends and head to the local orchard in search of our favorite pickings to make my grandma’s apple pie! When we get home we peel and cook those beauties into a dozen containers full of pie filling to keep in the freezer all year long! So this year I thought what fun it would be to combine our favorites…tailgating AND apple pie! I’m teaming up today with one of my favorite companies to bring you some fun-filled ideas to host an apple pie party…tailgate style! fun to eat fruit will put any edible logo or message onto fruit so that you can add something special to your event or gathering! I LOVE the darling detail the fall inspired apples brought to my party…let me share with you the fun!
tailgate, apples, pie…oh my!
fall brings with it such beauty…colorful leaves, plaid blankets, and the wonderful flavors of the season!
we’re so fortunate to have my grandfathers Chevy truck…and we often bring it out for special gatherings! i just piled some of my grandma’s apple pies and fall inspired munchies in the back for our tailgate fun!
no matter whether a spread of party food is big or small, i love to tie the flavors together! the inspiration for the treats came from the apples…and the fun logo printed on them!
food inspiration…
i love the colorful, autumn leaves…so it seemed fitting to have a maple leaf detail on the apples! this also sparked the flavors of the goodies served from the tailgate…
a tiered server holds munchies with a maple or apple flair!
little ornament craft frames make wonderful food labels…and they can be tied or clipped right onto the trays in the tier!
doughnut holes get a soaking in maple syrup…a delicious and easy sweet treat!
i just skewered them with a wooden fork and placed them in a cupcake liner to help prevent sticky fingers!
a tower of fall flavored goodies!
and sitting beneath are some simple toast squares topped with apple butter…
time for pie!
the main event of the tailgate was apple pie…but i couldn’t resist adding the maple cookies to tie the two flavors together! not only are they cute but a super easy decoration too!
i love the pie box mixed in with the crates…but you could stencil on a craft crate for a similar look!
cheers!
rustic containers look lovely in an outdoor setting! a vintage soda crate holds the assortment of beverages…
tailgate parties are meant to be casual and easy…plastic cups are just fine for wine!
at the table…
sitting behind the truck is a simple farm table set for casual dessert eating!
i love to include a blanket or two whenever we are entertaining outside. they’re perfect for wrapping around shoulders when fall breezes begin to blow…
plaid place mats, rustic chargers, and paper apples really dress up the disposable plastic plates!
when you mix colors & patterns you’ll create a casual & relaxed feel!
pretty favors…
the adorable apples from fun to eat fruit made lovely favors for guests to take!
and they double duty as the cutest centerpieces too!
now if you’re dishing up pie…you might want to have some extras to pile on top!
serving ice cream in the fall works well because it doesn’t melt quite as fast…serving it in an ice bucket helps too!
some toffee bits and caramel sauce…yes please! you can leave extras like these right on the table so guest can add more sugar without having to get up!
keep it casual, keep it cozy…make it easy to mingle! that’s what tailgates are made of!
…and good food too!

i hope you found lots of autumn inspiration!
