It’s my turn to host the Thanksgiving feast this year…and I can hardly wait! I know I’ve mentioned this several times already…but I REALLY am excited for all of us to be together again! Holidays are so wonderful for creating opportunities to gather with family, friends, and combinations of both to celebrate togetherness! I really wanted to create something special for my buffet this year…something sentimental, even humorous, and something for each family visiting to take as a memento. So while I’m thankful for so many things, I’m very thankful for my friend who helped me pull this off in a way that I couldn’t create myself! I really wanted to represent each member of my family with photos–old and new–to capture those special memories and start great conversations around the table! Take a peek at this fun idea that would be so wonderful at any celebration!
thankful for family…
i was inspired to do this photo display a long time ago when i was rummaging through some displays at Michaels. i found some metal letter clips to display a card or photo and i thought spelling out “thankful” might be cute! they were just the right size AND on sale so i bought them and tucked ’em away until this week…
i could use vintage holiday postcards but i really wanted to make this display personal…i thought it would be so fun if i could dig up photographs of everyone and stick them in each letter! so i spent the weekend scouring photo albums and computer files hoping to find a snapshot of all! that actually was more difficult than i thought! but, with some help, i got what i needed and had them printed! of course i could have used the old photos as they were but since i’m planning on my family members taking them home–i wanted to make copies! this is where my talented friend made them look beautiful for me…
they were all printed on heavy paper and mounted on a cardboard backing. you can’t really tell but they’re on a beautifully soft matte paper and are so thick they can stand without edges curling…i think everyone will LOVE them as much as i do!

they stand up so nicely in the clips and i just adore seeing new AND old photos of everyone!
