Traditional holiday table details are always festive! Red & green often represent our Christmas celebrations and are quite possibly the most popular color combo. There’s something so inviting about it, and you can easily find goodies to help make your table shine. So if traditional holiday decor is for you, I’m sharing some really easy ideas you might love. With just a few added details (that won’t break the bank), you can create a festive table for your peeps to gather around! Let’s get ready to set our tables and…
celebrate in traditional holiday style!
by using your favorite tabletop elements from around your home it’s impossible to not succeed in creating a happy space!
greens, poinsettias, christmas trees…all traditional elements that won’t disappoint!
your centerpiece never has to be over-the-top. a tray effortlessly showcases a small poinsettia, candles & honeycomb trees. and a little snow makes it sparkle!
never underestimate the power of little details…
or the impact of simple decorations…
take a festive seat!
jazz up each place setting by topping your everyday dishes with a holiday dessert plate. an economical alternative to a full holiday china set!
a christmas cracker is a fun addition and it’s a tradition that’s always on our holiday table!
party tip:
if you’re not familiar with crackers you might want to give them a try! give them a pull and they “crack” as they open spilling out the trinkets inside! what you get varies by manufacturer but they all include a paper crown that everyone can wear for some whimsical fun! what else is inside may be reminiscent of school carnival trinkets you’d throw away but somehow seem like treasure on christmas day! check the back of the box for a list of what is inside and just give extra care if you have little ones at the table as some trinkets could pose a choking hazard.
and pretty napkin rings can really dress up simple linens for special occasions.
decor tip:
alternatives to purchased napkin rings could include pretty ribbon & twine to make a bow or tie on some fresh greens. you can even try sparkly rubber bands or scrunchies (for hair) to thread your linen through. the dollar store can be a great place to look for these and you can even wear them later!
extra details…
it’s a design element i always fall back on. side tables are great for holding an overflow of food and drink but decor too…
details from the centerpiece are carried over to give some glam to a mason jar candle holder!
once again simple elements can create a whimsical display for pennies! mini baubles can add festivity in a big way…
decor tip:
if you saw my recent “holiday home” post you might have already seen this handsome fellow minus the baubles. just a reminder that you can keep adding festive elements to any of your displays right up to when the big man comes! i often tweak my displays throughout the month because no one comes up with ALL the decor ideas all at once! plus it keeps the decorating fun going all month long!
a nutcracker in traditional plaid simply placed on a side table looks sweet and creates an uncomplicated display…
lots of little elements that create a festive place to celebrate…
seated at a traditional holiday table!
