Valentine’s Day will be here soon! Whether you love to go all out with the pink and red, cute cupids and hearts galore…or you’re on the simpler side, this DIY could be for you! My Valentine decor has become more minimal over the years but I still love to recognize this sweet & heartfelt holiday. So today I’d love to share this easy project that was inspired by a box of “bowl filler”. You might ask “why not just dump it in a bowl?” and that’s a perfectly fine question. Truth is, you absolutely could do that for a simple & still darling decoration. But I want to share how you can transform the filler into a fun garland…and it only requires a couple supplies you might have on hand! Let’s welcome Happy Hearts Day with some easy creativity…
valentine’s day decor…made with ease!
rattan bowl filler makes a simple & neutral decoration for my mantle…
here’s what you need to make it:
valentine bowl filler–you can use rattan, felt or any material you can insert a pin into
pins or tacks
ribbon
i found this cute filler at my local Aldi store (i’ve linked this and other color options at the end of the post)
choose a ribbon in any color of your choice and simply pin this garland together how you like it!
because the shapes are made from rattan, the pin firmly holds the ribbon in place…
DIY tip:
if you use felt or fabric shapes, you may want to use long pins to hold the ribbon in place. a push pin is good for any textured pieces.
once you get it pinned how you like…it’s time to hang!
it’s a fun and economical way to create something unique for your home’s color palette!
happy hearts day crafting!
pin for later~
