It’s no secret that washi tape is good for almost any kind of crafting, decorating, or wrapping up pretty gifts and favors! I LOVE that there are so many choices out there now in hundreds of colors and styles…making it so easy to find tons of favorites! I use washi tape a lot when i entertain, i really like it for adhering food labels to tables or serving dishes and it’s wonderful for taping up banners and buntings since it won’t damage walls or furniture! But I have to admit, I really haven’t done much else with it…even though I see fabulous ideas from fellow bloggers and on Pinterest! So while I was shopping for some crafting supplies for a school event, I spied some sweet paper products including washi tape…and fell in love! I’m telling you, washi tape is perfect for everyday celebrations…making ordinary events seem extra special with simple decorative touches! See how this fun tape, combined with minimal party supplies made my simple movie night look marvelous!
never settle for wishy-washy…
make it washi-wonderful!
when i found these wonderful party supplies at JoAnn’s the other day, i was swooning over the color combo! i really like paper table runners and pick them up whenever i get the chance…they’re inexpensive, adorable, AND disposable–although with proper care, they can last a long time! so i gathered up the runner, some polka dot straws, AND washi tape…three simple supplies that can transform ordinary into extraordinary!
i LOVE the color of this tape! and it went perfectly with the other paper products!
so i decided to wrap the tops of some glasses that would hold bubbly beverages at my little movie night. it really added a fun pop of color…an easy way to color coordinate a party, or in this case, a simple gathering!
when you’re wrapping a fluted cylinder, you’ll have to keep adjusting the tape a bit so that it will line up with where you started. this may cause a few wrinkles…but when you’re done, just use your fingernail to smooth them out and you’ll hardly notice! once you pop a fun straw in…i guarantee that some tiny wrinkles won’t spoil the party!
i love the way they turned out…and look so darn cute on the runner!
and when my pals showed up to watch some chick flicks…i just piled them on a tray with some carbonated beverages perfect for a night of girly picks!
a simple movie night with some unexpected wahsi fun!

Thanks, Lori! I never heard of washi tape before. Now I’ll look out for it. I love the colors, too. They are so spring-like.
