Wine and chocolate go hand in hand…in my opinion! And when you combine a collection on a delicious charcuterie you’ve got a sweet treat that won’t disappoint! Halloween will be different this year. Our annual tradition of meeting friends for a multi family dinner party & passing out treats just isn’t going to happen this holiday. As disappointing as that may be, it’s temporary and we can still find many ways to make the night special! One treat I’m planning is to surprise my hubby with a wine and chocolate dessert board we can share! Piled with full-bodied flavor and rich dark colors, this grazing tray is perfect for All Hallows Eve! The drinks might be for the adults but you can substitute with any favorite mocktail for the 21 and under crowd! And to please the entire family, we might just fire up the patio heaters and watch a holiday movie outdoors. So if you’re handing out treats, taking the goblins out, or just staying at home…wind down your Halloween festivities with a special treat made just for the grownup ghosts!
wine and chocolate on a holiday charcuterie!
i’m completely obsessed with grazing boards! you can get as creative as you want for any occasion!
i’ve shared how to make them before…but they’re so fun, i couldn’t resist to show this grownup version!
what i used to create this board:
large serving board -tray or platter
assortment of chocolates & brownie bites
chocolate covered nuts, pears, dates & black berries
red wine & glasses
sweet crackers or chips
napkins, cupcake picks, artificial flowers & leaves
start with your tray and some of the larger items in your selection…
i left the pretty pears whole to give contrast in size and color…
i love adding flowers or herbs…but since my garden is now bare, i used artificial bundles!
including the drinking vessels looks pretty by adding height and contrasting materials to your tray!
to keep from using TOO many different chocolates, i also let the darling napkins take up space on my board…
working from largest to smallest, keep adding the goodies. don’t fret if it doesn’t look wonderful at first…it gets better as you go!
i’m a munchie girl, so i added these baked beet chips! i love the color and having something a little savory included…
now it’s time for the tiny treats and details. fill the little gaps with nuts and berries until it appears full…
i even used some leftover cupcake picks to dress up the brownies topped with chocolate covered mallows!
it’s a little detail that gives this board some spooky & sweet charm with very little effort!
a reminder to look around your house to see what you’ve got to embellish the treats and decorate around the tray!
a few goodies can make a big impact…and a sweet treat for the evening!
wine and chocolate charcuterie…
will make all the goblins merry and bright!
